I found a pleasant suprise when I check out the latest Junit from the SourceForge CVS yesterday, the latest stable Junit is 3.8.2. However, a quick check with www.junit.org shows that the version for download is still the old 3.81.
To get the latest junit code frm the CVS, run the command below:
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:firstname.lastname@example.org:/cvsroot/junit co -P junit
After you finished the download, run Ant and by default it will build the dist of junit.

"The changes between the versions are minimal and the focus was on fixing the accumulated bug reports. The most signifanct change is replacing the much-reviled string comparison format with something easier to read and use."
If you are having problem with Junit give the latest 3.8.2 a try.
